Committee responsibilities include identifying potential topics and speakers, suggesting industry partners interested in exhibiting or sponsoring the conference, and spreading the word to recruit attendees through their local areas. At times, committee members may serve as room moderators and provide other onsite assistance as necessary. Meets up to two times/month January-March Budget & Finance CommitteeThis committee oversees the financial operations of the Society, prepares the annual budget, reviews investments and investment policy, and works with staff to prepare appropriate government filings. It is chaired by the ISPE Treasurer. Meets a couple times per year Education CommitteeThis committee reviews education sessions performed by the State Society and chapters to determine if the topics meet the standards for continuing professional education. They also suggest speakers/topics for education activities. Doesn’t typically meet and does most work via email, but email requests require a timely response Legislative & Government Affairs CommitteeThis committee reviews legislation filed in the Indiana General Assembly, suggests positions to be taken by the Society, directs advocacy efforts on behalf of members, and serves as the liaison with the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Meets as needed during legislative sessions (January-April) and occasionally the rest of the year Membership CommitteeThis committee develops innovative ways to attract new members and better serve current members, in addition to promoting professional engineering to young people interested in STEM programs. Meets every other month and completes work via email otherwise Nominating CommitteeThis committee identifies and recruits society leaders to fill open positions on the ISPE Executive Board. Meets on demand during recruiting season (Jan-March) and as needed for other open positions |
